A jazzy evening with humor

The second concert of this 8th season of jazz evenings called “Jazz. Premier. Thursday” was dedicated to humor.
Our great friend and perennial host, Oleksiy Kogan, regaled his audience this evening with humorous tales from the lives of musicians, interposed with virtuoso performances of familiar tunes in absolutely unfamiliar arrangements.
One example was the DDT song Osen, which the Jazz in Kyiv band played in its original style, bossa-nova-style, in the sweeping movement of a waltz, in the lively tradition of a Ukrainian wedding, and with elements of Odesa klezmer.
Needless to say, it turned into a hot dance evening!
