Premier Palace Hotel Kyiv invites to visit the charity exhibition "Baranovsky. Ukraine. Children"

  • 21.07.2022
"As long as children draw - life goes on". This is the motto of the charity exhibition, which was hosted at the hotel on 22 July, 2022 by the charitable foundation "Inevitable Victory" and Ukrainian artist and warrior Andriy Baranovskyi.
Located on the first floor of the hotel, this exhibition combines artworks and installations of the artist as well as paintings of his talented young students - who, despite the war, continue to express themselves artistically. The exhibition is open until 2 September, 2022 and will end with the charity auction on the last day. All the collected funds will be directed to help the affected Ukrainian children.

The exhibition "Baranovsky. Ukraine. Children" is the second event of the International Charity Project of Contemporary Ukrainian Art which has been introduced by Andriy Baranovsky and the Charitable Foundation "Inevitable Victory". The first exhibition was held in London on 28 June, 2022. The funds from the paintings sold at the auction were directed to the needs of the Elfik kindergarten in the city of Dnipro, which takes care of children from Mariupol.
The exposition presents Andrii's artworks, created during the 8 years of the ongoing war in Ukraine. The artwork series "Iron Endurance" was painted during the treatment in the hospital after Andrii Baranovsky was wounded while serving in the anti-terrorist operation in 2015. The artwork series "Forks and Spoons" shows the author's vision of the life changeable and the eternal desire of humanity to eat someone else's piece.

In addition to paintings, the exhibition includes two installations. A metal and wood sculpture called "Mirror Blindness" (2019) symbolizes the difficulty of understanding each other. The sculpture "Egg Guardian" is an iron dragon that protects its newborn egg as if it's his only meaning in life. It is made from the burnt metal of a portable anti-aircraft missile complex near Donetsk, which was presented to the artist by his soldier friends in 2021.
New artworks will be constantly added to the exhibition.

Since 24 February until today, Andriy Baranovsky has been serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, putting down his brushes and picking up the weapons.

"An artist must always search for his truths. I believe everything will pass—both war and pain. But tenderness and love will remain in Ukraine. Our children will grow up in a happy, prosperous and free country. And as long as children draw - life goes on, - says the artist Andriy Baranovsky, - I am glad that the exhibition is presented in such a historical place as Premier Palace Hotel Kyiv, which has already turned 113 years old. I am impressed that this hotel hasn't stopped its work since the beginning of the war and had been a home for more than a hundred families with children who lived here for free during active military operations near Kyiv. The purpose of this exhibition is to help preserve the greatest value of Ukraine - its talented children. And also to convey to the world community that war has no boundaries and the whole world must protect its future."
"We are glad to be the partners of such a charitable art project with the mission of helping Ukrainian children," comments General Manager of Premier Palace Hotel Kyiv Oleksandr Buy. - Our European shareholders and we have been engaged in active volunteer activities since the beginning of the war, helping Ukrainian families, the units of territorial defence, The armed forces of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service, the National Guard of Ukraine and medical institutions in Kyiv. So far, we have allocated more than UAH 1.6 million to our charitable activities. We believe that victory will be ours, and we are bringing it closer by all possible means."

The exhibition is open until 2 September, 2022.
